SALT LAKE CITY – Tony Finau returned to Utah last night for a large gathering of friends and family at Salt Lake City International Airport.
Videos appeared on the Internet in which Finau danced and celebrated with his loved ones on the asphalt after his second consecutive victory on the PGA Tour.
Finau enjoyed his moment with his closest friends and family members. Holding the Rocket Mortgage Classic trophy while clad in multiple leis, he danced into the morning with a big smile on his face.
The rush at the airport came as a surprise to Finau and followed the trend of the weekend. Finau’s wife Alayna admitted on Sunday’s golf show that she surprised Finau on Saturday night by flying to Detroit, sneaking into his hotel room and pouncing on him as he walked in the door. She also confessed to setting up a camera, but Finau asked her not to share the video publicly.
Tony Finau Foundation Pro-Am
Finau flew back to Salt Lake City so he could attend his annual Tony Finau Foundation Pro-Am tournament, held at Oakridge Country Club in Farmington, Utah.
“We have the opportunity to change the lives of the children I grew up in an area where they are less privileged and less fortunate, and being able to give back to my community and the state of Utah means everything to me. said Finau in his press conference after his win at Rocket Mortgage Classic. “I’m looking forward to it and I hope we can raise lots of good money for our charity.”
Finau will not be attending the final PGA Tour event next week and will prefer to spend time in Utah while preparing for the upcoming FedEx Cup playoffs. After his two straight wins, Finau sits 7th in the FedEx Cup standings.
