SALT LAKE CITY, UT & LOS ANGELES, CA, November 04, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) – Intermountain Healthcare has launched a strategic employee training program to invest in the continuous development of their caregivers and communities. A new partnership with InStride gives Intermountain Nurses access – at no cost – to a wide range of online degrees, credentials and diplomas for in-demand and future skills.
In addition to courses for frontline medical and nursing staff, Intermountain will offer training programs for non-clinical staff. Beginning in 2022, Intermountain’s 42,000 nurses in Utah, Idaho, and Nevada will have access to prepaid courses in the subject of their choice from InStride’s world-class academic network of accredited institutions, including Arizona State University, CUNY, the University of Virginia, University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Memphis. Utah Valley University and the College of Southern Idaho will also offer Intermountain-specific courses, with more regional schools adding courses in the future.
“Education provides meaningful career development for our caregivers and is the foundation on which our organization and communities can build lasting success,” said Heather Brace, Intermountain’s chief people officer. “At Intermountain, we believe we need to invest in developing a diverse workforce, and that means providing solid educational opportunities at all levels of our organization. This initiative will help break down barriers to equal education by offering all employees language, GED, certification and graduation options. “
“Intermountain and its leaders should be commended for their dedication to serving their carers, who in turn serve their communities,” said InStride CEO and Co-Founder Vivek Sharma. “We pride ourselves on working with them to develop strategic employee training programs that develop and prepare their employees to deliver the best possible care now and in the future.”
