EquityNet releases new crowdfunding statistics for 2021

SALT LAKE CITY, UT, Feb. 23, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — EquityNet, the pioneer of corporate crowdfunding, today announced the release of new 2021 crowdfunding statistics based on a sample of over 10,000 U.S. companies, listed on EquityNet since 2007 through 2021. The recent update allows anyone to discover research statistics about the crowdfunding market using EquityNet’s unique, interactive charts. Visitors can view dozens of charts of business attributes segmented by industry, geography, and 15-year trends, including funding goals, funds raised, valuations, investor equity, year-ago and year-to-date revenue, revenue growth rates, market size, and growth Tariffs as well as the age of the company and the number of employees. They can then embed their results into their own websites, reports, or other educational content.

According to Judd Hollas, founder and CEO of EquityNet, “Our new crowdfunding charts provide an interactive solution for accessing a wealth of knowledge about private companies using corporate crowdfunding. EquityNet is a leader when it comes to tracking the trends and statistics in the business crowdfunding industry. We are excited to share this new, fully interactive data to provide valuable new insights into the crowdfunding industry for investors, entrepreneurs, policymakers, service providers and others in the crowdfunding ecosystem.”

The new data highlights several upward trends suggesting that the crowdfunding industry and the companies that use crowdfunding for their capital needs have seen significant growth since 2007. For example, the average crowdfunding goal in 2021 was more than $2.5 million and increased by 30% from 2007 to 2021. In 2007, the average pre-money valuation was $4.8 million, and although the Great Recession brought that number closer to $4 million by 2011, the average pre-money valuation in 2021 was more than $8 million. Additionally, the average company that raises crowdfunding has been in business for more than 6 years and has 13+ employees.

Dane Dickerson, EquityNet’s Director of Marketing, commented, “We are very pleased to release these new statistics and hope they will serve anyone looking to participate in the ever-evolving crowdfunding industry. It’s important that industry leaders like us continue to provide relevant information and insights to educate entrepreneurs and investors on the intricacies of crowdfunding.”
