Manufactured by Lake Woodworking by local artists
The Erie Art Museum is proud to host the Made by the Lake Woodworking by Regional Artists exhibit. This exhibition of fine woodwork, the first ever displayed at the Erie Art Museum, offers an in-depth exploration of the craftsmanship of woodworking artists from or currently in the Erie region. For decades, the growing community of woodworking artists has thrived in the region. Their technical execution illustrates the versatility of a local, natural resource that is deeply intertwined with society. Her influences range from travel and the outdoors to mentors from local universities and internationally recognized artists abroad. From utilitarian forms used in daily life to narrative objects that tell a story, these works demonstrate the strength and complexity that can be achieved with wood as a central medium.
