Volunteers from all departments of ABC4 offered their Thursday by helping at the Utah Food Bank. Workers sorted and delivered more than a month’s worth of groceries to local families in need of food aid.
George Severson, ABC4 Utah’s director of local programming and creative services who coordinated the effort, said giving back to the community is a year-long priority for the broadcaster.
âIt’s important for us as a station and as a company to support these community organizations that support so many others,â says Severson as he leads his staff at the Utah Food Bank’s Salt Lake City site.
The Nexstar Founder’s Day of Caring 2021 not only serves as an opportunity to help those in need, it also commemorates 25 years since the Nexstar Media Group was founded.
Nexstar Media Inc., parent company of ABC4 and CW30, started with just one CBS-affiliated broadcaster in Scranton, Pennsylvania, annual net sales of around $ 8 million, fewer than 100 employees and a vision: high quality, informative and relevant content for local communities.
Fast forward to today and the company now employs 12,400 people and owns or operates 199 television stations that serve over 68.4% of the United States
With no sign of slowing, Nexstar will reach new heights for the next 25 years and beyond, taking the time to give back to local communities at every step.
